कंप्यूटर सॉफ्टवेयर तीन प्रकार के होते हैं।
- सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर (system software)
- एप्लिकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर (Application software)
- यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility software)
सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर (system software)
सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर (System Software) ऐसे सॉफ्टवेयर होते हैं जो आपके कंप्यूटर के हार्डवेयर को Manage और Control करते हैं और इन्हीं की वजह से एप्लीकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर (Application Software) कंप्यूटर में चल पाते हैं या आप उस पर काम कर पाते हैं सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर (System Software) का सबसे सरल उदाहरण के आपका ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम यानी आपकी विंडोज जो भी आप इस्तेमाल कर रहे होगें, संक्षेप में सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर प्रोग्रामों का एक समूह है, सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर (System Software) के और भी कई उदाहरण हैं -
- ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम (Operating System)
- असेम्बलर (Assambler)
- कम्पाइलर (Compiler)
- इंटरप्रेटर (Interpreter)
एप्लिकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर (Application software)
एप्लिकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर (Application software) ऐसे प्रोग्रामों को कहा जाता है, जो हमारे कंप्यूटर पर आधारित मुख्य कामों को करने के लिए लिखे जाते हैं । आवश्यकतानुसार भिन्न-भिन्न उपयोगों के लिए भिन्न-भिन्न सॉफ्टवेयर होते हैं Software को बडी बडी कंपनियों में यूजर की जरूरत को ध्यान में रखकर Software programmers द्वारा तैयार कराती हैं, इसमें से कुछ free में उपलब्ध होते है तथा कुछ के लिये चार्ज देना पडता है। जैसे आपको फोटो से सम्बन्धित कार्य करना हो तो उसके लिये फोटोशॉप या कोई वीडियो देखना हो तो उसके लिये मीडिया प्लेयर का यूज करते है। एप्लिकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर (Application software) के कई उदाहरण हैं -
यूटीलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility Software)
यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility software) का काम कंप्यूटर के ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम (Operating System) की सर्विस/ रिपेयर करने का काम होता है साथ में यह ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम (Operating System) केे माध्यम से यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility software) कुछ हार्डवेयर की सर्विस करने का काम भी करते हैं जिससे उनकी कार्यक्षमता और गति को बढाया जा सके, इसमें से बहुत कुछ यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility software) ऑपरेंटिंग सिस्टम के साथ आते है और कुछ को अलग से लेना पडता है
